“I didn't have any final goal or design in mind when I started--in fact I had no idea at all about what I was going to do. I don't normally make artist books, but since I knew Bettina was a book artist, I must have been thinking about artist books in the back of my head. I ended up doing something that I'd been thinking about for a few years--making drawings of Dave's things. The piece just evolved and morphed as I went along.” – SW

“For work A, somehow I thought we were not allowed to use any words. That made it very challenging. Finally I worked on a piece that combined stenciling and collage. In my head I constantly tried to figure out if someone - in this case Sarah - would be able to respond to it. After receiving Sarah’s ’The Things of Dave’s we saved’ I was thrilled. Work B felt like an old friend: since Sarah had made a book, (including words) I followed up with a book.” – BP
